Brain discovery with Mr. Blamey

Unbelievable fun and discovery was had today with Mr Blamey. We compared the weight of the brain of a human and animals like a rat and an elephant. We were able to feel the weight of the of the brains with the use of weights.
We were able to get a better understanding of the human brain by looking at how it's appearance is like a walnut- two hemispheres and veins on the outside, how it feels like the squishiness of jelly between our fingers and how a cantelope represents the size and similar weight of the brain.

It was a fantastic session and we are very lucky to have another session to come in the coming weeks.

3/4 Hooptime

On Friday, 40 students went to Nunawading basketball stadium to compete in a basketball competition.
It was great fun and everyone enjoyed playing the games. Unfortunately no teams made it into the finals but there were many wins and everyone had great sportsmanship.
Great job to all the Hooptimers.

Brain Basics

As part of our integrated topic- Brain Basics- Body Systems, we have been discovering all about our body systems and the role of the brain.
The topic has been fantastic to explore in depth the human body.
Here are some of activities we have been doing to discover about the brain and all the body systems such as the nervous system.
